The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has expressed displeasure at the deplorable state of things at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, during a recent visit to inspect the facility.
He described the institution as unfit to produce competent Doctors, as such expressed his willingness to give the required urgent attention to the facility to regain its lost glory.
“This visit was informed by my meeting with Heads of Health Institutions and members of management board.” He explained further that despite the fact that OOUTH was the first and only teaching hospital in the state, the report he received on the state of things there was quite disheartening. The condition there is “worse than deplorable and I intend to immediately put together a team of consultants and member of the sector after I get a formal report from the medical director and his team
“We shall go back to back to the drawing board where a team would be set up to immediately come up with best approach that would make the hospital functional as it should be.”
The governor reiterates his administration commitment towards ensuring the health sector gets a better during his tenure in office. He however, assured to give a face lift to the institution.
